Where I want to travel and why
I have wanted to travel to Paris France for many years now and it's my plan to get there within the next five years.
I keep an eye on flight prices, hotel prices and have a savings account set up for my trip. I don't know if I'll go myself or with someone yet but either way, I am going!
Paris has so many amazing sites to see, shopping to do, cafe's to have coffee at, bakeries... I want to see the wall of love, Eiffel Tower, Catacombs, I'd like to find a Cataphile to take me through the Catacombs, thrift store shop, see the bridge with the locks of love, go to Marie Antoinette's garden and so much more.
When they say Paris is always a good idea, they aren't wrong. It's the city of lights and love. How could you not want to go there at least once in your life?
There's so much to do in this amazing city. I want to do everything they offer for tourists and off the beaten path. I don't just want to do the tourist things, I want to see and explore all of Paris, see all she has to offer.
Seeing the Catacombs is one of the biggest things I want to do. I've been so curious about the Catacombs for years. My trip to Paris wouldn't be complete if I didn't tour them. I'd like to find a Cataphile to take me through, off the tourist site. I know going off the tourist site through the Catacombs can be dangerous because you can get lost so easily.
My daughter got me a photograph of Paris of the Catacombs. It was one of the best gifts I could have gotten. I know it's probably an odd thing that I want to go there, but it's my thing. I think it's such a huge part of Paris' history.
The bridge with the locks of love is another site I have to see when I go and add a lock to the bridge. It's amazing how so many people have added a lock to this bridge declaring their love for someone. If you don't go back, your lock is there forever. It's a very sweet gesture.
The wall of love... this is amazing! The Wall of Love (French: Le mur des je t'aime, lit. the I Love You Wall) is a love-themed wall of 40 square meters (430 sq ft) in the Jehan Rictus garden square in Montmartre, Paris, France. The wall was created in 2000 by calligraphist Fédéric Baron and mural artist Claire Kito[1] and is composed of 612 tiles of enamelled lava, on which the phrase 'I love you' is featured 311 times in 250 languages. Each tile is 21 by 29.7 centimeters (8.3 in × 11.7 in)
It includes the words 'I love you' in all major languages, but also in rarer ones like Navajo, Inuit, Bambara, and Esperanto.
The wall is open to the public free of charge.
Can you imagine?! That's something I'd love to see in person.
This is something I cannot miss out on! Marie Antoinette's Hamlet and the Palace of Versailles. Marie Antoinette is such a historical figure. I'd love to see her Hamlet and how she once lived. That would be utterly amazing.
You can't go to Paris without going to Disney land!! It's a magical place for children and adults alike. I'd love to stop here, see what it's like. I've never been to any Disney lands.
My trip to Paris wouldn't be complete if I wasn't able to stop at some of the best bakeries. I'd love to try real, authentic pastries from Paris. I can only imagine how delicious their food is.
Of course, you'd find me at the cafes in Paris! I can't go there and not have my coffee! I LOVE coffee. Plus to be able to just sit outside, enjoying the sites, sounds, smells with a hot cup of coffee in my dream city would be perfection.
I will not leave without stopping at Shakespeare and company book store. I've seen this only in photos and online and so desperately want to stop here. I love reading and collecting old books. This would be one of the best souvenirs I could bring home.
Of course, I'd want to do shopping in Paris! Antique shopping, thrift store shopping, go to the markets and see all the shops they have. That's probably where I'd spend a large amount of my money! I can imagine how different their shops are from the ones we have in Canada.
I am sure there's be a lot more I'd want to see and do once I got there and in between now and going to Paris that I find online. Paris has so much to offer. She's an amazing city with so many hidden gems. I can't wait to go.
