She's been dragged through the depths of hell,

many times she fell,

but was never kept down

never let herself drown.

She was too strong,

had something worth holding on (to)

Had something worth living for

and knew out of life, she wanted so much more.

She's been let down so many times,

been told ever single one of the lies,

cut people off, cut off ties,

let people go, got sick of the cries.

She knew it was now or never,

if she didn't change now, she'd be stuck in hell forever,

and hell isn't where she was lettin' her heart die,

she was done and over with the games and lies.

He thought he had her trapped, locked away,

but things all changed one day

when she opened her eyes, her mind,

decided it was time,

time to change things up, live her life,

she wasn't loved, it wasn't right,

he didn't want her, he wanted to abuse her,

trapped in fear.

Trapped in manipulation,

trapped, locked away, forgotten,

she didn't know who she was anymore,

he threw away the key, locked the door,

left her trapped inside,

nowhere to go, nowhere to hide,

she stood up for herself one day

finally got away.

No more living in abuse,

in a hatred house,

no more living a life of lies,

tear-stained eyes,

no more living a life that was not life but the verge of death,

no more living a life of nothing left.

He thought he had her trapped, locked away,

but things changed one day,

when she opened her eyes, her mind,

decided it was time,

time to change things up, live her life,

she wasn't loved, it wasn't right,

he didn't love her, he wanted to abuse her,

trapped in fear.

She stood up tall and straight,

took a leap of faith,

took the superhero stance,

scared, yet took a chance,

she packed her bags, walked out the door,

drove off into the night in her run-down car.

Left the abuse and hate behind,

knowing there's so much more out there to find,

she drove off in her clunker,

for something better.

Better is what she found,

resting her feet on luscious green, grassy ground,

looking up at the pure blue sky,

no more fear, no more lies,

just her and her open heart,

put back together after being torn all apart,

fixing her tender soul,

never again, being told no.

He thought he had her trapped, locked away,

(she said NO, got away)

But things changed one day,

(she drove so far away)

When she opened her eyes, her mind,

(decided it was time to let go)

decided it was time,

(it was time)

Time to change things up, live her life

(live HER life)

She wasn't loved, it wasn't right

He didn't love her, he wanted to abuse her
