[DIY & WORKSHOP] RECYCLE BOOKS ON GREEN SHELVES
Hello there,
I hope you are well, first of all, I wanted to thank you sincerely for the slew of love that I receive from you, since I live this parenthesis by your side it's a little day swimming pool every day. Your enthusiasm for the creations that I concoct, your reactions so positive, to see you so numerous day after day fills me with happiness. So for all that Thank you! I try every day to meet your expectations, to create pretty things and show you that our daily life can be filled with sweetness and that it goes into detail, without doing too much, in short, I try to show you that our days can be punctuated by parentheses every day, because yes I proclaim it every day is a celebration.
If you knew the number of things I want to achieve, the multiple dreams that are just waiting to be put in place, but do not put the cart before the horse, all this will be done little by little. I already have an incredible chance to live this waking dream for a year by your side, (yes that's it my heart made good) and besides do not hesitate to give me your opinion on what you would like to see more often on the blog. The sections that you prefer, what you would like to know or discover. In short, express yourself I would be happy to read you.
In the meantime, I lift the veil on the latest addition to the “ upcycling ” collection (which you have already seen on Instagram ) or this consuming passion that I have for diverting objects from their primary function and putting them where we do don't wait for them. The book hijacking trend shouldn't have escaped you if you wander around on Pinterest, so I too got into the game, but I wanted to add the airy and poetic touch that I love so much.
This is how the vegetable shelves were born, because we all have old books lying around but which we want to keep, so why not transform them into succulent containers. As always, this allows you to obtain a unique decoration but also to revive in another way, old objects that take dust too often. So it's up to you… and also go to the bottom of the article you can discover a little surprise :)
So let's go and it's over here, takes:
- Succulents
- Earth
- Quite thick old books
- Cutter
- Varnish glue
- Brush
- Strong glue
- Freezing paper
- screwdriver
- Screw
- Flat brackets
1 / Start by leaving a few sheets of the book intact to obtain an “open book” effect
3 / Using the cutter you just have to cut, pressing enough to make several sheets at the same time. Repeat the process to obtain the desired cutting thickness. 4 / Do not hesitate to lift your first cut pages to start the same cutting frame again, this will make your task easier. 5 / After having obtained enough depth (about 3 cm) glue the entire area you have cut, in order to secure the leaves together.
6 / Do not hesitate after drying to add this time strong glue in the corners to solidify the whole thing even more.
7 / Unroll a small part of the plastic film to protect the bottom of your future flower pot, to prevent the book from getting wet. Take care to fit the corners of your cut with this plastic film.
Reinforce everything with a few dots of strong glue at the ends of the remaining pages if necessary. Repeat this for the free pages above, to prevent them from falling when the book is suspended.
Take your screwdriver, then attach two parallel brackets directly to the wall. Place the plant book directly on these brackets, then screw it from below using small screws. Your book is now attached to the wall so as to obtain pretty plant shelves. So, are you ready to make these overhead shelves by simply recycling old books?
