Harry Potter themed home decor

if your child is begging for a room with a Hogwarts theme, it might actually be a good idea to decorate.
The books clearly aren’t a passing phase, so you won’t have to take everything back down again in a week’s time, and a Harry Potter theme tends to be much more visually pleasing than anything super bright or related to Peppa Pig.
Thankfully, all of these ideas are fairly easy to do and don’t require a full room re-do.
Take your pick or try them all to make any child’s room a little more magical.
Hang Winged Keys from the ceiling

These are super easy to make. All you have to do is buy some fake skeleton keys, glue on some cute white wings you can buy at any craft store like Michael's and hang them from your ceiling with some fishing line.
Make sure to make one with a broken wing for accuracy.
String up some bunting declaring your child’s chosen Hogwarts house

Make a Dobby inspired spare sock holder

This decoration doubles up as a handy way to finally find the missing socks for a pair. You find a lonely sock, you peg it up. Eventually, you’ll peg the other one up too. Or you’ll just fill out your decoration. Either way, it’s a win.
You can find the full tutorial on Mely Goodman’s blog.
Frame their favorite Harry Potter quote

You can easily DIY this one by writing out the quote yourself (if you’re proud of your handwriting) or printing it out.
Decorate a wall with a decal inspired by the wizarding world

Spoiler: this may not be strictly accurate in terms of directing you around Hogwarts. But you can imagine. Buy it from Amazon.
Throw a few Harry Potter inspired cushions on to the bed
Instant magic with very little effort.
Create a fake potion shelf

All you’ll need for this one is a few empty bottles and jars, rinsed out and covered with magical-looking labels.
Paint their cupboard with the Marauders’ Map

Okay, so you might need some serious skills with a paintbrush for this one. But if you’re feeling artistic and have time to dedicate to a project, this one’s a showstopper.
Cover their bed with a blanket knitted in Gryffindor’s house colors.
