The best BOYS slumber party ideas

I did a post for a girls slumber party so of course, as a mom of THREE boys, I have to do one for boys as well.

Here are some boys slumber party snacks, food, games and other ideas to ensure their party is the talk of the school. Hope you enjoy my ideas.

Slumber party food:

Why spend a ton of cash on pizza when you can have the boys make their own? This is a quick, easy and fun way to get the kids in the kitchen, cooking and being creative.

It's so easy. All you need is:

4 ingredients
Meat
  • 1/4 cup Pepperonis
Condiments
  • 1 1/2 cups Pizza sauce

You can have pineapple, peppers, mushrooms and other toppings the kids may like to add as well.

Bread & baked goods
  • 1 Package Boxed garlic toast or texas toast
Dairy
  • 2 cups Mozzarella cheese

Pigs in a blanket is so easy and fun for kids to bake. Just get some all meat hotdogs, crescent rolls, and roll your little piggies up, bake and serve. You can add an assortment of dipping sauces like Ranch dressing, Ketchup, Mustard, cheese and pizza sauce. I like to add garlic spread over my rolls before I bake them for a garlic bread taste. It's super yummy! You can even add a slice of cheese on top of your hotdog before baking to make it extra cheesy!

Slumber party snacks:

Just like the girl's party, the boy's party is no party without movies and snacks. Here is a pre-made popcorn bar. Have a small cup of popcorn, chocolates, gummies, candies, popcorn flavours and of course, butter. Don't forget the drink. If you don't want a house of kids on a sugar high from pop, give them some flavoured water, it's a great alternative.

Ice cream is always a hit at any party. Set up an ice cream bar for your boys. Have a nice selection of crumbled cookies, fruit, chocolates, candies, coconut, gummies, marshmallows and nuts. You can serve frozen yogurt instead of ice cream as well. Don't forget the sauce! Have some whipped cream, chocolate, caramel and strawberry sauce to add and top and maybe, some cherries!

How about making your own pie? I bet the kids would love making their own no-bake mini pies. Get some mini graham pie shells, whipped cream, pudding in various flavours and toppings like chocolates, candies and cookies. Let them pick their own pudding flavours and toppings and have fun!

If you don't like the pre-made popcorn idea how about a mini popcorn bar. Have some bowls of chocolates, gummies, candies, sprinkles, Mike and Ikes, Twizzlers, popcorn flavourings and butter with a large bowl of popcorn and popcorn bags for the kids to each make their own bags of popcorn with toppings of their choice.

Walking Tacos anyone? These are delicious and super fun. What kid doesn't like Tacos?

Instead of bowls like in the photo, I'd use chip bags or zip lock bags.

Have small bowls of ground beef, shredded cheese, shredded lettuce, salsa, sour cream and different kinds of chips. Let the kids pick which kinds of chips they'd like and have them crumble them up, add their ingredients and toppings, shake it all up and eat as they walk; so to speak.

Slumber party FUN and GAMES!

NERF GUN WAR

Nerf guns will never go out of style. Invite a guest to bring their own nerf guns to the party, but have extra just in case some of the boys don't have one.
You can let the boys play freestyle and/or set up different nerf gun games and challenges for them to try their skills at.

Hide and clap.

Some may know this as the game they played in the movie The Conjuring, but this game is a favourite in my house.

One player is blindfolded and must count to 20.  Some rules say they must spin around 10 times, but we prefer counting.

While he is counting the other players must go hide.  Once the counting is over they must keep at least one foot planted in their hiding place until they are found.

The blindfolded player must listen and feel around to find the other players.  They can call out CLAP, and all hiders must do two loud claps to give them a clue - but CLAP can only be called three times.
The last player found wins, the first player that is found is next to be the finder.

Ninja course

Create an obstacle course and challenge the boys to make it through.  You can make it competitive by recording the time it takes for each boy to make it through or just for fun.
You can create your obstacles out of whatever you would like, there are tons of ideas for creating obstacles.  Here is my favourite set of obstacles for the Ninja Run Course.

1. Boys make it through the 'laser' field.  This obstacle is best created in a hallway where two walls are close to each other.  Pin string or streamer (lasers) from one wall to the next in different directions.  Players must maneuver through the area without touching any of the 'lasers'.  Some attach small bells to each laser to alert to movement.
2. Next players enter an area where they must punch or kick all the enemy ninjas before escaping to the next challenge.  The 'enemy ninja's' are balloons with ninja mask on hanging on a string from the ceiling or helium filled and tied to a string and anchored to the floor.
3. Next players must make it across a path of legos barefoot to the finish line.

Keep, pass, eat!

You will need a die and some small wrapped pieces of candy for this game.  I like to use mini reese cups or starburst.
1. Each player gets three pieces of candy.
2. Players take turn rolling the die once.  They must either KEEP all their candy, PASS a piece of their candy, or EAT a piece of their candy according to the number they roll.
3. Players continue to roll and follow the rules of the die until only one piece of candy is left that player WINS!

If a player ends up with no candy they should stay in the game because another player might end up passing them a piece and then they will be back in the game!

Glow bowling

This game can be played indoors or out. You will need 10 water bottles, 11 glow sticks, and a hamster ball.
 1. Fill plastic water bottles nearly to the top, then add glow sticks, and seal them uptight.
2. Open the hamster ball and put a glow stick inside, you could instead use glow necklaces. Close the ball back uptight.
3. Arrange the bottles in bowling pin formation, and let the kids take turns knocking pins over in the dark.

Would you rather?

This is a fun activity for when it is time to settle down.  Players take turns drawing Would You Rather questions (written on slips of paper) from a bowl.

Would You Rather is a game where a question is posed and players must state what they would choose IF THEY HAD TO between two undesirable things? An example would be ' Would you rather have bad breath for the rest of your life or not be able to talk for the next year?"  Questions can be whatever you want them to be.

Guys movie night.

Don't forget to let them have a guys movie night. Let them pick from age-appropriate "guys" movies, give them a choice of ones you've found on Netflix. They can either all agree on a movie or two or have a bowl, slips of paper with the movie title and that's what they watch; no arguing! Don't forget the popcorn, sleeping bags and pillows.
