Real life ghosts stories
So many people from all over the globe for many years have experienced some sort of paranormal activity; no, not the movies, actual paranormal experiences. Some people aren't convinced there is life on the other side or that ghosts, spirits, paranormal is real. I didn't for many years either... Until I had 3 separate experiences of my own. I am going to tell you about these 3 experiences I had.
My mom, her boyfriend and I lived on a farm when I was a kid, about 8 years old or so, I don't remember. My mom's boyfriend, I'll call him "Dan" was a farmhand and worked with cattle and horses. My mom worked in Calgary. She would be gone all week and home on weekends. She worked with mentally and physically handicapped adults. I'd take a bus to and from school each day. It was a large farm. Our house was a decent size. It was two bedrooms, had a big dining room, kitchen and living room and the basement was all mine for a play area. I had all kinds of Barbie things; a Barbie mall, a huge Barbie house, cars, camper, etc... We did not own a TV as my mom thought it would be no good for me. She wanted to me read and use my imagination. I'm glad she did that now, I am an avid reader and writer.
That's just a small rundown of my life then. One day, not long after we'd moved into this house on the farm, we weren't even unpacked. My mom and Dan were sleeping on the pullout sofa bed, they hadn't set up their bedroom yet. I didn't want to sleep in my room for whatever reason so I decided to make myself a makeshift bed on the floor in their bedroom. I was laying down reading with my puppy, Sean. He was a cute red healer. As I was reading I saw something out of the corner of my eye, just in the upper left corner of the room. My puppy must have sensed it too because he sat up, was looking in that same corner. I had the bedroom door open a bit, so I could see the light from above the stove.
The thing in the corner went away. Sean curled back up next to me and I started to read again. (I was reading R.L. Stein Fear street).
After I don't know, ten minutes or so, Sean SPRANG up so fast! He startled me. He looked in the corner again and began to cry and shake. I threw my book down and looked too, there was this black thing in the corner of the room. It wasn't a figure or anything, kind of like a basketball-sized black ball.
I was scared, Then the black ball FLASHED towards me so fast! I squealed and hid under the blankets! Sean RAN out of the room so fast whimpering, tail between his legs. I knew from Sean's reaction I wasn't crazy, he saw it too.
After a few minutes, after I let my heart stop pounding, I looked out of the corner of my blanket and saw nothing. I decided to take all my stuff and sleep in my room after all.
I don't know what the hell that was but it sure scared my puppy Sean and I!! I never saw it again, thank God!
When I was 15 I had two more experiences. We now lived in Calgary, closer to my mom's work in a nicer house. It was a large 3 bedroom, with a finished basement. I spent a lot of time in the basement throughout the day and at night, I'd be in my bedroom.
I was sound asleep one night, I was awoken by a strange feeling in my room like someone was watching me. I opened my eyes, looked around my room and jumped! There was someone standing near the foot of my bed!! It was an older man in dirty clothes, with suspenders, work boots and what looked like an old cowboy hat. I couldn't see his face, it was too dark, almost blurred out. I was so scared but I couldn't move, look away or yell for anyone. I was frozen.
He moved towards me slowly. I didn't hear him walking as I should have been he had work boots on. I was still frozen in fear as he got closer. I could feel his sadness the closer he got. He didn't say anything, he just stood at the side of my bed, looking down at me with his faceless body. I watched him as he stood there. It was like he was looking for someone but couldn't find them and it made him sad.
Then he just vanished... faded away kind of.
When he was gone, I was able to move, breath and speak again. I didn't yell but I did get out of bed. I went to the kitchen to get some water and calm down. I thought maybe it was a bad dream but, it couldn't have been because there I was, in the kitchen. It was so strange and frightening.
Another time in the same house, the same year I was awoken to loud music. My mom and her boyfriend had a party that night, which was unusual for them as my mom wasn't a drinker and they had never had a party before.
I went to the basement where the loud music was coming from and didn't see anyone. I turned off the music, made my way back upstairs and down the hall to my bedroom. Just as I rounded the corner from the kitchen to the hall to where the 3 bedrooms were it was like I'd walked into a fog, and everything went into slow motion, and like the floor started to lean to the left a lot. I put my left hand against the left wall as if to hold myself upright. It was the strangest feeling. My heart was racing! I looked at the end of the hall between my mom's room and my room, there was an attic door in the ceiling there. I stopped dead in my tracks, frozen in fear. I saw these white stairs coming down out of the attic, almost like they had a bright white glow around them. I saw a misty figure come halfway down the stairs, it stopped when it noticed I was standing there. It was a lady from what I could tell, in a white flowing nightgown I think. It was like she wasn't expecting to see me or for me to see her and she froze too!
She tilted her head to the right a bit and gave me a small side smile. I don't know if the smile was meant to seem a bit on the bad side, but that's how it seemed. She then turned, went back up the stairs and they were gone! She was gone, the stairs were gone... It was the WEIRDEST thing!
The room didn't feel so heavy any more, wasn't tilted or in slow motion. My heart was still pounding, almost out of my chest. I remember thinking to myself, WHY THE FUCK AM I SEEING ALL THIS PARANORMAL ACTIVITY!?! I quickly went back into my bedroom, never taking my eyes off that attic and closed the door. I got into bed and hid under the blankets until I fell asleep.
The really strange thing, there wasn't any stairs in the attic! As far as we knew, there never was any. I had my mom's boyfriend screw the attic door shut from the outside. He wasn't going to do it but I wouldn't leave him alone until he did.
There was one other time, I don't know if this one is paranormal but, it was odd.
I lived on a farm with my boyfriend and my daughter. We were standing out on the front stairs that looked down to a dirt road driveway. I had my hair up in a ponytail. I was talking to my boyfriend and daughter. My daughter was about to go down the hill onto the dirt driveway but something inside me told her not to. I asked her to wait before going down, then SNAP!!! The elastic I had holding my ponytail snapped! I'd used this elastic before, many times. When I put it in my hair it wasn't torn or worn out. For it to snap out of nowhere was really odd. It snapped loudly too. My boyfriend and daughter both heard the snapping sound and saw my hair fall out of the ponytail.
Right after it snapped a BIG red truck was coming up the driveway quite quickly. There was a dog on the other side of the road, it was smelling something that was on the driveway. I guess for whatever reason the man in the truck didn't notice the dog and ran over its head!! My daughter and I started yelling at the guy instantly and ran down on to the driveway to see if the dog was okay.
The man stopped his truck, jumped out and started freaking out. He'd run over his OWN dog!!
He picked up the dog that was still alive but very badly hurt. He put the dog in his truck, drove past our house up to the barn. He took the dog out of the truck and laid him in some hay. His wife, who was in the truck with him was crying so hard and petting the dog. They were an older couple in their 70's. I sat with the woman, trying to console her as best as I could and also petting the dog. He died not long after that. It was horrific.
My boyfriend said he thought the snapping of my elastic was a ghost (he said my mom's ghost) warning us or distracting us from letting my daughter go on the driveway, so she wasn't the one who was hit by this truck. I don't know if that's true but, it's still weird my elastic broke like that at just the right time.
I believe in ghosts, spirits, the paranormal now. With those things that happened to me, how could I not?!
