What I'm into: Skin, body and hair care
Like anyone else, I care about what I look like and how I feet. I care about my outside appearance. I don't care for anyone else but me, I do it so I feel good and look good. I can care LESS what anyone else thinks and that's how EVERYONE should be. You can't please everyone so, why try!?
I don't spend a crazy amount of money on my skin care products, but I do stick to the ones I know work well for MY skin and hair. I've tried MANY different products over the years, finding ones that just didn't do shit all for me, made me break out, get sore, red skin, and made my hair feel like shit.
So, I am going to share what I have found that works really well for me. I am 41 years old, so my skin isn't what it once was. I don't drink, I don't touch any kind of drugs (I have enough in my system from all the medications from my diabetes). My ONLY two vices are smoking cigarettes and drinking coffee. Not too bad.
In the morning I wash my face almost right away to get all the oils off my skin. I like to use either Dove soap or Oil of Olay regenerating cream cleanser and St, Ives acne control anti-acne apricot scrub then I use Proactive daily oil control cream.
At night, I like to use Freeman Beautiful skin raspberry and almond smooth body scrub, Oil of olay regenerating cream cleanser and finish with St, Ives Timeless skin collagen elastin facial moisturiser. Sometimes I'll use Dirty Works Life's a beach coconut scrub instead of the raspberry scrub. It's good to switch things up once in a while or your skin gets used to your routine and things don't work as well as they did. These items can be found in most pharmacies, drug stores and anywhere you buy soap and body washes. Proactive you find online. I do NOT use the Proactive face cleanser, it's too hard on my skin and makes me red, blotchy and break out too much. I don't get a lot of acne, I'm lucky. My kids however, do breakout a lot, that's why I bought it. The Cetaphil you see in the photo is also for my kids skin. It works really well for anyone with overly oily skin and a lot of acne. It keeps the acne down a lot.
For my body, I LOVE Dove!
Dove body wash is amazing. Not only does it smell really nice, it makes your skin so soft and moisturised. It doesn't leave your skin dry and itchy like some body washes do. I also like to use Beauty and Planet coconut water mimosa flower radical refresher body wash. I love the smell of coconuts and this smells amazing! It makes your skin so soft and smooth. The bottle is cute and recyclable.
For my hair, again, I LOVE Dove! I should really work for Dove LOL! I would promote the shit out of their products and use them constantly! LOL!
These are the hair care products in my shower. I don't have a ton of them, just the ones I really love to use. I like the Dove Nutritive solution colour care shampoo. It makes my hair so soft, shiny and doesn't strip the colour out of it. I also like to use Inecto 90% of natural origins marvelloous moisture coconut shampoo. It smells amazing, leaves your hair soft, shiny and frizz free. For conditioners I use L'Oreal Paris Hair Expertise Fibraology conditioner. It leaves your hair really soft, frizz free and so shiny. Also, Garnier Whole Blends gentle conditioner Oat and delicacy. It's really nice. It smells so nice, it's light weight on your hair, doesn't leave it oily or greasy, it leaves your hair shiny, frizz free and feeling so very soft. It also doesn't strip the colour out of your hair. It's a really nice conditioner.
I want to try and find the gloss treatment for my hair. I have decently long hair but, I colour it all the time to keep it the blonde I like. The gloss treatment will make my hair look really healthy and super shiny and glossy from the inside out. It's the stuff all the celebrities use on their hair to make it so glossy. When I do find it and try it, I'll post my review of it.
I also sometimes, not often use Noxema on my face. Mostly in the summer if I get a sunburn. It really cools off your burns and makes your skin feel cool and refreshed. I don't use it a lot because it's really greasy and with already having oily skin, it would make me breakout.
For after my hair is dry and I want to style it or just brush it, I use a few products but not many. I don't like to weigh down my hair or cake it with un-needed products. Too much just looks and feels disgusting. I don't know how people cake crap in their hair and think it looks good.
I sometimes like to use Marc Anthony Refreshing Coconut clear dry spray conditioner. Its an ultra light spray conditioner with a light, hydrating, that infuses moisture without having to wash your hair. So, if you're in a hurry and don't have time to get in the shower and wash your hair, this is a great alternative until you have the time to wash your hair later that day.
I'll use Down Under natural's extra hold hair spray if I want to hold my hair style. It's not overly sticky, doesn't clump and look gooey. It's nice, light weight and smells good to boot!
If I want volume in my hair, I'll use John Frieda luxurious volume spray. It's a weightless spray that gives your hair a bit of extra volume.
The two products I do use daily however are, Schwarzkopf Gliss hair repair with liquid keratin ultra moisture express repair spray. After I shampoo and condition my hair and towel dry it, I'll spray this in my my hair and allow it to set in. It makes your hair really, extra soft, smooth and knot free.
After I spray that in, I'll use got 2b dazzling shine spray. You can spray this on freshly washed and towel dried hair or even dry hair. It makes your hair so extra soft, extra shiny and takes the knots right out. The smell isn't overly nice, it's a strong scent but it works amazing. I've been using this for years!!
And lastly, if I want a really intense all natural hair mask that repairs split ends, frizz and lack of shine in my hair, I'll use extra virgin coconut oil. I have it in my shower at all times. It's not only great for your skin but your hair as well.
It restores the shine in your hair, leaves it soft, oil free, and extra, EXTRA glossy.
You can leave it in your hair over night for an intense hair repair, wash out in the morning. I suggest using shampoo TWICE in a row the following morning and light conditioner. Make sure you get it all out or it leaves your hair greasy; it is an oil after all.
Or for a light weight condition, you can do it in the shower, leave it in for about 5 minutes and wash out and condition. It will still leave your hair frizz free and glossy, just not as much as it would if you leave in over night.
The benefits of coconut oil are amazing!
