Apex Legends Season 4 Launch Trailer reveals Revenant's evil backstory
Respawn Entertainment have finally unveiled the full trailer for Apex Legends Season 4, revealing the full backstory of Revenant, has his hunt for revenge.
In the build-up to the new season, which starts on the one-year anniversary of the game's release, Respawn have been creating expansive lore. Most of it has centered around two unreleased Legends: Forge and Revenant.
Back on January 23, they revealed Forge as the new legend, which came as a surprise to many, who were expecting Revenant. But, Forge's time was short-lived, as Revenant took revenge and killed him in cold blood.
This sparked confusion, and some even pointed out differences in Forge that could mean a body-double was killed instead. All was set to be revealed and explained in the official launch trailer, released on January 30.
The trailer reveals the backstory to Revenant, and how he became the mysterious evil figure he is today.
"Revenant was once the greatest hitman the Syndicate ever had," Respawn explain, "But when his programming failed, he saw what Hammond Robotics had turned him into. Hammond Robotics' return to the Outlands has renewed his thirst for vengeance, and he won’t stop until they’re all dead."
New Battle Pass
No surprises here, but a fresh new battle pass will also launch with Season 4. Early seasons' passes were criticized for their contents, but Respawn has seriously stepped up their game since.
Season 4's battle pass is "packed with 100 exclusive items including Legendary skins, Apex packs, Loading Screens, Music Packs, and more!"
Also, to celebrate the game's one-year anniversary, logging in between February 4-11 will grant players with a Year 1 Origami Flyer charm, a Year 1 Loyalty badge, and 10k XP for your first match of the day (available each day).
Map changes and Kings Canyon coming back
We can also expect some map changes to World's Edge, which will still be the main map when the season launches. However, Respawn have confirmed that Kings Canyon will be making a comeback too.
Unfortunately, for Kings Canyon fans, it's only been confirmed as coming back in ranked mode, and only for the second split, starting March 24.
Apex Legends Season 4 starts on February 4, on PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
